You may use manual methods or use any statistical tools you wish, including Excel and IBM SPSS Your first job is to make sure you can work with this dataset. If the file provided does not open or import properly for you for any reason in SPSS, Excel or other package, you should be able to paste the contents of either the text or .xls files into your software package. Once you have SPSS / Excel or other package working you need to generate the following outputs as well as a brief descriptive and analytical commentary on each area. Sub-Part 1 Provide a detailed description of the dataset. For each of the variables listed in the dataset, describe their variable type (categorical, discrete or continuous) and level of measurement (nominal, ordinal, interval,ratio). You should also write a couple of paragraphs describing in plain English what you know about the dataset having produced descriptive statistics. Sub-Part 2 Summarise one categorical and one numerical variable. The summary of the categorical variables should contain the following: frequency table, pie-chart or bar chart. The summary of the numerical variables should include the following: histogram, measure of centrality (Mean/Median etc.) and measures of dispersion (Range, Standard Deviation, percentiles etc.). Provide appropriate labels (x and y axes) and headings for your charts. Use SPSS or Excel and provide SPSS (or Excel/another tool) data and output files to support your own description of the data. Provide a short paragraph describing in plain English what the summaries reveal about the data. Sub- Part 3 Carry out and report appropriate tests to see if there are significant correlations between variables in this dataset. You must do at least one correlation involving two variables. For example, you could answer the question: Is there a relationship between Gender and level of Stress?. You must also perform a correlation involving three variables. For example, you could answer the question: Is there a relationship between the Gender, Productivity and level of Stress?. Use SPSS, Excel or another tool, and provide the analysis data and output (numeric and graphical) files (or software files) to support your own analysis. Justify your choice of test. Provide a short paragraph describing in plain English what the analyses reveal about the data. Carry out and report appropriate tests to test if there are significant differences between Means as follows: a. Is there a significant difference in Resilience scores for males and females? b. Does the employees Gender influence their levels of Job Satisfaction? c. Is there a difference in Stress depending on ones Age in years? Use SPSS and provide SPSS data and output (numeric and graphical) files to support your own analysis. Justify your choice of test. Provide a short paragraph describing in plain English what the analyses reveal about the data. Sub-Part 4 Answer the question: How well does Age in Years and Job Satisfaction predict Stress scores? Use SPSS and provide SPSS data and output (numeric and graphical) files (or Excel or other files) to support your own analysis. Justify your choice of test. Provide a short paragraph in plain English describing what the test reveals about the data. Your analysis should take about 2,000 words. The use of SPSS is not mandatory. You can use any other software package, or Excel, to conduct your analysis, or use manual methods.
